Is the Syphilis and Herpes Test Right for Me?

If you have a lesion such as a blister or open sore, then you can swab the area and we can check for Herpes and Syphilis. Our PCR based testing can distinguish between herpes types 1 and 2. This test is done at one of our referral laboratories and generally takes 4 - 5 working days to complete.

If you do not have lesions but you want to get tested for other STIs, we have other options available.

If you have had a lesion on a part of the body used for sexual activity that has subsequently healed, then a blood test may be appropriate.

What if I test positive?

If you test positive for Herpes, then we can refer you to a partner clinic and they will prescribe treatment for you free of charge. The medication (should you need it) is sent by next day courier in the UK. Please note that medication cannot be sent to other countries.

Treatment for Syphilis involves an intramuscular injection of an antibiotic. You will need to be seen face to face for this treatment to be administered by a healthcare professional.

Is the packaging discreet?

All packing sent from The STI Clinic has absolutely no mention of us on the outside and there is no way that anyone could tell what is on the inside. In addition, everything is marked private and confidential.
